PPRA Wins Best Exhibitor Award at Sabasaba 2025 Trade Fair

The Minister of Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Selemani Saidi Jafo, has presented the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) with the Best Exhibitor Award in the Regulatory Authorities category at the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba 2025.

The award was received on behalf of the Authority’s Director General, Mr. Dennis Simba, by the PPRA Coastal Zone Manager, Ms. Vicky Mollel, on July 13, 2025, during the official closing ceremony of the exhibition, which took place from June 28 to July 13, 2025.

Speaking after receiving the award, Ms. Mollel stated that the Authority received the award with great honor on behalf of all public procurement stakeholders who visited the PPRA booth and received services during the event. She emphasized that the success was a result of excellent planning and service delivery, driven by a strong culture of accountability and dedication among PPRA staff, as well as strong leadership from the Ministry of Finance, the Board of Directors, and PPRA Management.

Ms. Mollel also expressed her gratitude to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for her visionary leadership, especially in establishing the NeST System. She highlighted how the system has enhanced transparency and equal opportunities in public procurement, making the sector more inclusive for Tanzanians.

“At this year’s exhibition, we launched the campaign ‘Samia’s 30% Allocation Through NeST’. This initiative supports the Government’s efforts under the Sixth Phase Administration to create an inclusive economy. The 30% allocation refers to the portion of the public procurement budget reserved for special groups—women, youth, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Since the launch of NeST on July 1, 2023, contracts worth over TZS 16 billion have been awarded to these groups—and the effort continues,” Ms. Mollel said.

She added that PPRA delivered high-quality services throughout the event, using innovative methods—including artist performances—to engage the public, and that more than 1,000 stakeholders were served at the booth.

She concluded by inviting all stakeholders to visit PPRA’s Head Office in Dodoma or any of its six zonal offices (Coast, Southern Highlands, Northern, Lake, Western, and Central zones) to access services related to the NeST System and the 2023 Public Procurement Act.
