A delegation from the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) of Rwanda today, January 15, 2026, paid a study visit to PPRA Tanzania with the aim of learning how the NeST System operates effectively in ensuring that public procurement is conducted in a transparent, fair, and equitable manner.

Speaking upon arrival at the PPRA Headquarters in Dodoma, the Director General of PPRA Rwanda, Mr. Jimmy Byukusenge, said that they have been closely following the NeST System while in their home country and have observed that it is among the leading systems in Africa in enabling procurement to be carried out with transparency, fairness, and equity.

“That is why we decided to conduct this study visit to learn how the NeST System works, so that we can benchmark and improve our system back home,” said Mr. Byukusenge.

On his part, the Director General of PPRA Tanzania, Mr. Dennis Simba, together with the Authority’s Management, welcomed the delegation and assured them of full cooperation in achieving the objectives of their working visit, particularly in gaining experience and insights into the country’s public procurement system.

The Director General of PPRA Rwanda is accompanied by the Project Manager for the Electronic Procurement System, Ms. Francine Gatarayiha, and a Senior Procurement Specialist from the World Bank Office in Kigali, Mr. Sreenivas Devarakonda.

During their visit, the delegation is also expected to tour the Public Procurement Appeals Authority and other institutions involved in the management and oversight of public procurement in the country.
