PPRA showcases procurement information tools to engineers The Public Regulatory Authority is always striving to publicize the Public Procurement Act and its Regulations at every possible opportunity and encourages discussions and debates on issues relevant to public procurement, the officer engaged in the exercise has said.
Funding roads a big challenge - PS The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Eng. Omar Chambo has said funding for development of roads is now a big challenge because traditional sources for funding these projects are being depleted of funds fast.
PPRA adopts new organisation structure In a move aimed at increasing efficiency in the regulation of public procurement, the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) has started operating under a revised organization structure with effect from 1st July 2010.
Registration of potential suppliers of goods and services to government institutions The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority has developed a database for maintaining records of potential suppliers of goods and services to the Government institutions.

Welcome to the PPRA Website

The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA)  is a regulatory body established under the Public Procurement Act CAP 410.The Authority is charged with regulatory functions and vested with oversight powers and responsibilities on all public procurement activities carried by all public bodies in the mainland Tanzania.

The objectives of PPRA are to ensure the application of fair, competitive, transparent, non-discriminatory and value for money procurement standards and practices;harmonize the procurement systems in Tanzania between the local and central governments; set standards for the public procurement systems in Tanzania; monitor compliance of procuring entities; and build procurement capacity in the country.
