Speaking after meeting with Finance and Planning Minister Philip Mpango in Dodoma recently, AfDB Director General for East Africa Regional Development, Mr. Gabriel Negatu expressed satisfaction with the implementation of various AfDB-funded projects and pledged continued funding to aid the Government’s push towards middle income economy.

“Tanzania is one of the countries that have showed positive results in implementing development projects financed by the bank,” said Mr. Negatu and reaffirmed AfDB’s willingness to maintain the long standing partnership with the Government.

According to him, the bank is also expecting to finance construction of a standard gauge railway from Tanzania to Rwanda which would foster development and efficient transportation of people, goods and services within the two countries.
