Same District Council in a bid to increase capacity of procurement staff

Seated left is a training facilitator, Ms. Hitrudice Jisenge - a procurement expert from PPRA In a bid to increase capacity of its procurement staff, the Same District Council has adopted a well tested approach that has been employed by many procurement entities by conducting training on the Public Procurement Act No. 21 of 2004 (PPA 2004) and its Regulations.

The training, which lasted three days, was recently conducted at the Council’s conference hall by Procurement Expert, Mrs Hirtrudice Jisenge from the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) and was attended by 43 participants including the Tender Board members, PMU staff, user department and the District Executive Director (DED) of the Council.

The three-day training, which was opened by the Same DED, Mr. Juma Iddi, ended on 28^th June, 2010 by a word of thanks from District Human Resources Officer, Mr. N. Mbwambo.
